It can't make things worse; -) With regards to the installer patch, I believe that code was added recently by one of my colleagues so I will have to double check what it's attempting to achieve and if/how it's affected the arguments because that will likely cause a problem when the test for a valid PHP installation is made as I suspect you've discovered.
