Mar 06, 2017 · I've found that this has to do with the conntrack utility, but I'm not running conntrackd. I can't figure out where this message is coming from. nf_conntrack is loaded as a kernel module. I notice this message about 10 minutes after rebooting, then it doesn't appear again during that boot session.

Nov 26, 2007 · For 2.6.22-r8 I first forgot to install the modules. I got the same message "Invalid argument" (with some modules build in the kernel) but with "can't load conntrack support for proto=2" in the messages logfile. But after installing the modules I only got the "Invalid argument" reply at the iptable command.
