Apr 22, 2012 · Unless you're using programs that require lots of RAM, 2GB is fine for XP. If you have XP 32bit you will be wasting money buying 16GB of RAM - it will not see the extra RAM passed 4GB. You can save money and just buy 4GB of RAM.

RAM is handled by the BIOS, the OS has no control over it. Now, some newer system chipsets like AMD Fusion don't support XP, but that has nothing to do with the RAM type. By and large, there's no problem with XP on newer hardware.
