    Hunh? $40k is plenty if you don't have kids. If you do, I have no idea. I would have loved to make 40k when I was working before law school. Rent : 500ish. Commute: Hourish on the subway. (NYC) A little over 100 a month for that. I could tell you what I do for fun but unless you like doing the same stuff it won't help you much.
