The environment is properly set before eclipse is started. If I remove the /MACHINE:X64 then the link fails for unresolved references. It appears that what CDT sends to the log as the compile command is not quite the same as it uses, or that the PATH it uses to the cl.exe is different from that which would be found normally in the path.
