Jun 13, 2012 · Job Corps pays for some of the child's needs, but not all. Plus, the child will be home on weekends if they live on campus. There is an option to live off campus and many local students do. Either way, the child is still going to need financial support from the parents. So, no, this does not qualify as a good excuse to stop paying for your child.

Jul 03, 2012 · I am not at all sure that being in Job Corps wouldn't count as a temporary absence from the custodial parent's home...such as a private boarding school would be. I don't think that child support would be ended if a child got a full ride scholarship to a private boarding school. I would get a short consult with a local attorney.
