Jun 12, 2014 · CDP and LLDP basically serve the same purpose, they provide a method for network devices to communicate information about themselves. CDP or Cisco Discovery Protocol, is Cisco proprietary, where as LLDP or Link Layer Discovery Protocol is vendor neutral.
