Aug 01, 2003 · I don't think there is a bracket compatible with the mini starter, and I'm throwing out a guess here but I don't think they would need it either. They're considerably lighter and I imagine they don't need any extra support at the front like the old style full size starter.

Oct 05, 2016 · A while back I went to put the front brace on the starter on the 327. I found that it did not fit and that the starter casting locates the starter rotated a few degrees from what I would call normal. This places it lower and closer to the engine and the brace ends up too short. The starter engages and functions normally.

Dec 29, 2019 · If your old starter has the straight bolt pattern and not the staggered later style you have the 153 count flywheel, that is If your engine is the original 1984 model. As already suggested try to get the PMGD style starter and add the support bracket. If my memory is correct there were 3 cast brackets for the in line engines.

Feb 24, 2010 · What size/type is the bolt that goes in the starter support bracket? It's #3 in the picture. I've got the bracket, but the bolt must have come loose and dropped out. Well I'm having problems attaching the picture. The picture is on page 253 in the TM 9-2320-289-20 manual.
