Nov 30, 2012 · I noticed the following issue. The OpenMPI version built with a no-OFED easyconfig has support for InfiniBand on machine with IB libraries. This is because OpenMPI configure script will autodetect InfiniBand libraries and enable InfiniBand if they are available.

Run them with no arguments whatsoever and you'll get a list of options that can be used to provide the actual compiler name. As for using an alternative MPI implementation, the virtual InfiniBand adapters provided by Azure seem to lack support for shared receive queues and Open MPI won't run with its default configuration.
