May 10, 2014 · Is the Vim 7.0 with +python good enough to run DBGPavim? Why didn't your compile of Vim with python support work? The first question, I am not sure. The dependent debugger script only requires Vim 6.0, but the actual DBGPavim itself has only been tested on Vim 7.3, I wouldn't bet it works with Vim 7.0 from the EL5 repo.

As this appears to be a bug in Vim on an unsupported configuration with a now-unsupported version of Python, I'm closing the issue. If this is still an issue with a modern version of Python in a supported environment and can be shown to be a bug in Python rather than Vim, a new issue can be opened.

The version of Vim I had installed was the standard Windows version available at vim.org. Suprisingly, this version does not appear to have Python support compiled in. So if you want support for Python plugins, the only options are to compile your own version or use a different distribution.
