Nov 27, 2019 · Hi everyone, I would to know how to apply compression only support in this plate. I think that I should apply compression only in the hole, the force in one of the two directions and in the other I should apply a fixed support or displacement with x=0, y=free and z=free (in 3D case).

Aug 22, 2019 · Here are load types in ANSYS: * acceleration - used when we know the value of acceleration acting as a load in the system (for example cars) * gravity - when we want to include effects of self-weight for example in cantilever beam * rotational vel...

Compression Only Support / Modal Analysis : ANSYS

    https://www.reddit.com/r/ANSYS/comments/7x6myt/compression_only_support_modal_analysis/
Compression Only Support / Modal Analysis. ... Whilst ANSYS gives you the option to use this in a modal analysis because it is a non linear support it gets converted to a linear support during the Solution. Ie you’ll end up with a support fixed in compression AND tension. If you look at the file.err file it lists all the warnings and it ...

XANSYS ~ View topic - [Xansys] Simulating compression only ...

Sep 15, 2009 · So to make a compression-only support in MAPDL (sorry, using new names of ANSYS products here), you need to create a copy of the face you want to apply the load to, and mesh it with target elements with the amesh command, and then mesh the flexible body face with the proper contact elements (once again, using amesh). Hope this helps, Doug Oatis
