Dec 09, 2015 · My win 7 machine Notepad opens txt files with Cyrillic fine but my Win 10 machine Notepad opens the same txt files as garbage, but types Cyrillic OK. MS Word 2010 on the Win 10 machine opens the file OK but asks what to open the font as. Windows Cyrillic is default and opens the file fine. I have Russian keyboard selected in input method.
