Re: Vista (32 bit) SP1 My guess is the 7200rpm hard drive, it is pretty noisey, If I listen carefully to my XPS M1530 I can hear the drive spinning inside the laptop. If you lift the laptop off the desk entirely do you hear any sounds indicating loose parts?

AFAIK dell still isn't preloading SP1 on Vista systems yet. last check, dell was supposed to start preloading SP1 on Vista systems and provide Vista SP1 recovery media by the end of May 0 Kudos

Dell recomend user to install Vista SP1 and even after 6 month their "Engineers" has not resolved driver problems. I have a Dell XPS M1710 where vista has given me nothing but problems. I even formatted the harddriven reinstalled with the "latest" drivers Dell could provide and still expirience programs to crash.
