May 29, 2007 · Supporting a unit giving support doesn't prevent it from being cut if it's attacked by even a single unit. However, it may prevent it from being dislodged. Support is cut in both of your examples.

Apr 29, 2019 · The support is cut, even if the attacking unit is dislodged. The way I was taught was that you can cut a support, but you can never cut an attack.

Support is “cut” if the supporting unit is attacked from any province except the one where support is being given. Cut support is not added to the force of another unit. 20. Dislodged units have no effect on the province where the unit dislodged it came from.
