    Temporal dithering should be disabled by default on a Windows-based NVIDIA driver but temporal dithering maybe enabled if the color bit depth is incorrectly set. If temporal dithering is enabled on a machine using PCoIP, it may result in poor performance and high bandwidth usage even when the display is seemingly static.

Dither is only enabled when an application is actually outputting 10-bit, like Alien Isolation's "Deep Color" mode, or the madVR Video Renderer - even if your display is 8-bit.

    Otherwise, Windows will just set it to 8-bit with dithering automatically when I switch on HDR in the display settings. I've read other people say that there's visually no perceivable significant difference between 8-bit with dithering and 10-bit, but I don't really understand how that is true.
