Feb 10, 2010 · The Jumbo packet is set by the NIC driver of your PC and by the Synology device. The 655 does not have anything to do with this setting. It might be that the switch part of the 655 cannot do 100Mbit on one LAN port and 1000 Mbit on the other (not sure, but makes sense), causing all the ports to go 100 Mbit if a 100 Mbit device is connected.

Mar 27, 2008 · I sent the question online via the US D-Link site. I got a response from D-Link Technical Support (Oz) saying that Jumbo Frames support is enabled by default on the DIR-655. Prior to that, I also sent an email directly to the Australian sales team.

Mar 02, 2010 · On the PC hard code 1000/FULL with 9000 Jumbo Frames Make sure your switch has jumbo frame support and check to make sure it is turned on. I found that my Nvidia 1GB cards where slower than the Dlink PCIe card I got. Results Nvidia card could only achieve 9 to 10MB/s mostly 9 the Dlink Card gets 13MB/s sustained.

May 26, 2009 · hi, i just read about 10 posts about jumbo frames but don't see a clear answer as to what the maximum (or optimal) size is? my Netgear GS716T can support up to 10240, has anyone ever tried setting it that high before? if so did it work as advertised? it appears that my vista box can only support 4088 or 9014, but the W2K8 server can only support up to 7k MTU.
