@bladeede I used Nero 7.10.1.0 and 6.6.0.16 - both of them including the associated Nero Express does not have an option to change booktype. I believe this is due to the fact that LG-GSA-H55N does not support bitsetting and therefore the option to change booktype is not shown at all.

The LG burners do not support bitsetting for DVD+RW media. And not all brands of burners are the same way: Some brands do not support bitsetting at all, while others (such as Pioneer) automatically bitset the book type on DVD+R DL media to DVD-ROM but do not support bitsetting on single-layer DVD+R/RW media.

Feb 08, 2008 · Granted, not all burners support by changing by setting, even if it just change the booktype: and can do well using DVDInfoPro: click on the button + RW - or with Nero Burning Rom: recorder - select recorder - options - setting book type: DVD-ROM, able to burn the DVD, but the cut probably will not work.

The Philips 8631 DVD burner of my Dimension 5000 does not support bitsetting. The firmware in Dell's archive cannot help, because it is older than the one already installed.
