Airport Utility handles both Push Button and PIN methods of WPS. Apple refers to Push Button as "First Attempt". I'm not sure why you say Apple Support says that WPS isn't supported.

I never use WPS and I don't think it is necessary if you have any networking skills. Apple has AirPlay which is an alternative to DLNA.
