Aug 19, 2012 · Hey had the same issue and found a solution, now the problem is that the drivers on your pc dont use opengl even though the card has the ablity to use opengl 2.0. so i tried many drivers from the amd website and the only one i could find was a xp driver from 2006 for this card, but by doing this you loose alot of win 7 perks such as the aero effects and that driver slowed my pc down a good bit.

Oct 30, 2012 · I've downloaded and installed the Win7 64bit drivers on my machine and now they show up as ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series in Device Manager. This clearly indicates that I've completely removed the Engineering Sample drivers that won't load Minecraft due to openGL issues. Reboot your machine after installing the Windows 7 drivers.
