This problem happened on my BYOD AT&T unlocked 1st gen Moto X, and it's happening now on my OnePlus X. Finally, one of the chat reps from Cricket tried to take the problem higher. After the rep spoke with someone else (maybe a supervisor, maybe a developer, I don't know) I was told that Cricket "does not allow" MMS while connected to wifi.
