Support for any type of L3 tunnelling on 3550 is specifically withheld by Cisco. So there are some things that the 3550 hardware architecture does not do well. I'd certainly have thought if you can run EIGRP on a 3550, then it would extend to vrf-based EIGRP.

Catalyst 3550 MPLS VRF Problem. I was trying to configure MPLS VPNs on Cat 3550, but I experienced some problems. When I create 2 or more VRF, I get too many packet losses on those VRFs. So without any VRF it works fine, when I add a VRF it again works as it is supposed to work.
