Apr 17, 2007 · Multiple Spanning Tree (MST) is an IEEE standard inspired from the Cisco proprietary Multiple Instances Spanning Tree Protocol (MISTP) implementation. This document assumes that the reader is familiar with Rapid STP (RSTP) (802.1w), as MST heavily relies on this other IEEE standard. This table shows the support for MST in various Catalyst switches:

Cisco run's PVST by default. If you cannot change the configuration of the Cisco Catalyts switch, your best option is to run 802.1d CST on the Huawei switch. As Per-VLAN Spanning Tree is a Cisco proprietary technology - and the only STP version supported on the 3500XL platfrom, Huawei cannot be configured for MST either. HTH. Leon * Please rate posts

Jan 31, 2018 · Support for MSTP Cards. The CPT system supports Multiservice Transport Platform (MSTP) cards, thereby eliminating the requirement of a separate chassis for these DWDM cards. The following table lists the MSTP cards supported in the CPT 200 and CPT 600 chassis and provides references for more information about these MSTP cards.

Jul 22, 2016 · The MST implementations in Cisco IOS releases earlier than Cisco IOS Release 12.2 (25)SED are prestandard. The MSTP enables multiple VLANs to be mapped to the same spanning-tree instance, reducing the number of spanning-tree instances needed to support a large number of VLANs.

"mode {rstp mstp pvrst}" With non-Cisco devices, the interesting part is always Cisco's per-VLAN implementation. If a trunk is formed by a Cisco switch, - they send untagged BPDUs to the IEEE destination MAC 01:80:C2:00:00:00 - they ALSO send untagged BPDUs with Cisco proprietary destination MAC 01:00:0C:CC:CD
