Apr 24, 2014 · The Precision T7500 (which also has the advantage of DDR3 1333 memory) however does support SLI in the conventional way- pop in the two identical- well, identical within certain limits- cards, connect them with the bridge/connector, enable SLI in the Nvidia control panel and then zoom, zoom, pan, regen, and anti-alias 128 times all day long!

T5400 is the ancient model from 2006. Newer XEONs are not compatible. The X5460 that was compatible and shipped with the Precision T5400 has the S-Spec code SLANP, similarly the E5450 that was compatible and shipped with the Precision T5400 has the S-Spec code SLANQ . You will also need Dell JD210 Precision 490/T5400 Heatsink w/screws.

You can't wish features into chipsets or trick dell into validating a feature that does not and will not exist. There are others with 2 slots like the Optiplex 990 that have 2 slots but do not support SLI nor Crossfire. SLI And Crossfire are specific and not interchangeable. May 25, 2018 · The T5400's will support a pretty wide range of CPUs and I think some of the slower ones don't support a few things necessary for anything past El Cap or Yosemite or something.. I actually have 3 T5400's and I think I ran into some problem like that with the one I'm not using IIRC - that's got some model unknown off the top of my head but much lower-end/slower/older chip.

May 06, 2008 · I'm not entirely sure if it will work since Dell does a lot of proprietary things with their boards, but the Intel 5400B chipset does support SLI with GeForce cards, including of course the 9600GT. Edit: The motherboard actually has 2 Intel chips and 2 nVidia nForce 100 PCI Express chips to allow for both SLI and Crossfire support.

I was going to plop some fast Xeons on it and build a near silent 8 core system, but bought my XPS 730x instead. This motherboard has Two LGA 771 sockets, support for 32gb of 667MHz fully buffered DIMM ECC, Two 16x PCIE slots.
