Aug 01, 2006 · I have implemented this by assigning the new contents to the innerHTML of the <marquee> tag and that works OK in IE, but it does not work in Firefox. A look at the DOM Inspector shows the changed caption is inside all the XBL that is in the innerHTML of the tag, but absolutely nothing shows up in the marquee.

Expected Results: Would like Firefox to support the marquee CSS style eventually. The marquee effect created by the "marquee" styles is quite useful on devices with smaller screens (cell phones, etc.) and it would be nice to see that it works OK when development desktop-browser-based sites in Firefox rather than having to use Safari. Does anyone know if there are plans to make the scrolling marquee tag standard in HTML 5? It was originally made to only work in Internet Explorer. However, all of the latest versions of Firefox, Opera, and Safari support it now. To me, it just seems like it might as well be made standard if it's going to be supported by everything.
