720p, 1080i and 1080p are all versions of HD, but they’re all different. It’s important to note that you can’t actually buy a TV set with a 1080i display, for reasons which we’ll go into a bit later. So to begin with, we’ll just look at 720p and 1080p and the differences between those.

HD Ready means nothing. HD can refer to a couple different resolutions (1366 x 768, 1360 x 768, 1366 x 720, 1360 x 720, 1280 x 720), none of which I would actually consider HD. All HD Ready sets can work with 1080i. The manual for your TV indicates 1366 x 768 (which is not 720P) and that it only supports progressive sources up to 720 (1280 x 720). 1080p24, 1080p25, 1080p50 or 1080p60 is not supported.

Xbox One Supports Only 1080p or 720p Resolutions, No 1080i ...

1080i TVs can also do 720p as well, so you better simply set it to proper 720p because 1080i is practically the equivalent of 540p with even and odd lines interlaced. It's not even proper HD, and you can't get 60fps over 1080i so you practically lose all the advantage in games that support it.

Otherwise the TV is just going to convert them to 720p anyway. If the native source is SD or 1080p however then the choice is based on whether the TV or the device has...

yes, these guys have it right. youre not actually seeing the extra pixels from 1080i. The reason 720p tvs accept 1080i is because some HD channels output at 1080i.
