Jul 07, 2010 · We've got ESXi 4 running on a dell poweredge 2950. I want to provide access for a guest os to a fibre channel storage drive. Must we use pci passthrough for the HBA or what? VSphere says that the host doesn't support passthrough. Is there another way of doing this? Maybe the processors don't support the VT-d that is needed?

They were connected to HP MSA SAN storage and worked perfectly, I have now decommissioned the HP storage as the controllers were failing and running into problems connecting new storage.
