Does iChat support DNS SRV records? - Apple Community

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/925863
Jul 10, 2007 · Question: Q: Does iChat support DNS SRV records? (Cross-posted from the iChat AV forum) ... I was able to do the same with Gaim, so it appears its a limitation of iChat. Does anyone know if iChat is SRV record aware? I'd assume it is, since I believe Apple's iChat-Server handles itself through DNS SRV records.

Dec 15, 2009 · Is there any way to make a SIP app (iChat in this case) work through ISA Server 2006 at all? Short of using a DMZ, is there anything I can do to make this work? I have tried allowing "All Outbound Traffic" for the Macbook IP but it doesn't help.

An easy way to test a SIP Call with SIP.US is to use a softphone, such as Xlite or Zoiper, and configure a SIP.US trunk directly in the softphone. When making your SIP call from the softphone, you’ll want to be sure to dial the country code followed by the area code and then the number.

I have tried to use the new iChat AV with our SIP system. I haven't found out how to call a SIP url, it seems I can only call those found via AOL, .mac or rendezvous. There doesn't seem to be any support for SIP registration, so I can't make it register itself into our proxy. When calling it, I haven't succeded in anything else than a-> INVITE
