Oct 16, 2009 · Both routers must support WDS. I would recommend to ask further questions regarding dd-wrt in the dd-wrt forum, in particular regarding the support of the WRT610N. Generally, dd-wrt is well tested if you don't use the latest test/beta releases. You should have no problem going back to Linksys firmware afterwards.

The Linksys by Cisco products will not work in WDS configuration, i can't say if it is able to repeat a signal we have not tested that. The solution we used is the Cisco Small Business serie WRVS4400n router and the WAP4410n and after a lot of work and testing we had it up and running with a little help from Cisco support.

You might be able to find third party firmware, such as dd-wrt or tomato, that might convert your WRT610N into a repeater. Note that using third party firmware will void your Linksys warranty. 2) If by "repeater", you mean a device that is wired to your primary router, and sends out an additional wireless signal, then yes, your WRT610N can do this.
