Mar 07, 2013 · The issue could also be that the laptop's drive may not have blu-ray feature (many laptops do not have Blu-ray drives, just CD/DVD drives). Please verify this by looking on the front of the drive to see if it has the blue ray name on the front. Just to make sure.

It's been a while since Dell even offered the option of a Blue-Ray drive on an Inspiron system. What model system do you have (i.e., Inspiron N5110, 5531, etc.)? And in the device manager, what is the model number of your DVD drive? Even with the correct software, if the system doesn't have a blue-ray drive the disc won't play.
