I think you need to download the trial version, test your application, then post any questions you have.

I have the Web Add-in for QTP and I am still having issues with applications that have javascript in them. I have AJAX tabs in an application and I have a separate window that opens in another application, but both use javascript and do not run correctly. I am using 2 different machines that each have QTP on it.

Plain Flash applications aren't supported by QTP, however Flex applications are supported by a module supplied by Adobe (search for QTP in this link). you need a license for Flex Plugin which is provided by Adobe for the Flex based web application.

QTP 11 is ancient, it doesn't support Windows 10 (or 8 for that matter). UFT supports Windows 10 beginning with version 12.51, however Microsoft Edge isn't supported (at the time this answer is written).

The Java Addin is for Java applications, not JavaScript. YOu need the Web/AJAX addin installed and selected. When you say QTP does not recognize the object, when you use the Object Spy, take a screen shot and show the output here.

When QTP believes the page has been fully loaded, there actually are still JavaScript handlers running, possibly updating the HTML used for the page and QTP accesses the GUI to early. readyState is a good idea, but usually, it is easy to find cases where that does not work good enough.

Thanks for the replies and yes we did try enabling ActiveX, but as you experienced QTP still does not recognize the individual objects. As our annual renewal nears we will be looking for other automation options. Maybe HP will take some action to support SilverLight …
