Apr 14, 2012 · If you were just wanting a RDS Server then you should look at WS08R2 itself. No matter which way you go if you use RDS Session Host (aka terminal services) then you need RDS CALs. SBS 2011 Essential privides you the abillity to use the RDS gateway thorugh RWA only without the need to CALs, primarily to RDP into client machines ont he intranet.

May 13, 2014 · look into Windows Multipoint Server 2012 (or 2011) as you can use that as an inexpensive RDS/Terminal Server. it can be joined to the SBS domain and you can assign users to it like you would a PC for remote access. you will need to install an Open License version of MS Office (can't use retail or OEM).
