Its only 720p. The back of the box says 1080i and that's the only thing that kept me from buying it on 360 which is full 1080p. False advertising and shame on you Bethesda.

Incorrect actually, well I'm not sure if your PS3 is a different model or not, but on my fat 40gb, the games that support 1080p always default at 720p, unless you unchecked the boxes and force it to 1080p... 1. I don't think so, the back of the box says 1080i so I'm sure thats what he meant. It doesn't say 1080p.

I have both a 360 and a PS3 and I haven't played anything on PS3 other than Gran Turismo (which displays in 1080), I noticed that Skyrim (which I purchased on PS3) will not play above 720P or 1280x720 resolution whereas my 360 games all display 1080P on my TVs resolution information panel (and obviously display 1080i/p as well).

Nov 17, 2011 · Only a small percent of ps3 games support full 1080, skyrim is not one of them (and i do have ps3) when you turn you playstaion on, it start up in 1080, the menu. but as soon as you start the game it will revert to 720. and they do a lot of 1080 games in 1080 a lol. and 1080pi lmao, 1080i or 1080p

Just because you have a 1080p TV doesn't mean games will run in 1080p. 99% of games are native 720p. The reason it says it's running in 1080p before you start Skyrim and then switches down to 720p when you start it, is because the PS3 background/XMB runs at 1080p when no game is running.

1080p Games only play in 720p, whats wrong? A lot of the games claim to play in 1080p (GTA 4, Call of Duty - Modern Warfare), but as soon as I leave the PS3 screen, it switches over to 720p. Keeping in mind that the PS3 menu screen has no problems running in 1080p

The ps3 version of skyrim does not run at the same resolution as the pc one. It only runs at 720. Also things like draw distance, detail level, aa, shadows etc, are all different on the ps3 to the pc version. Maybe your just running much higher detail/draw distance/resolution than the ps3 verison.

There is direct support for the Windows Xbox Controller (Not the same as an Xbox controller, although you can use hacks to allow use of a regular Xbox controller on the computer). I am not aware whether or not there are native support for other controllers; but you could easily set up a profile to ue it with Skyrim.
