    May 24, 2012 · Is there a socket 478 CPU that supports XD? (In case your curious, I have a crap web server I'm trying to harden a bit on the cheep if I can. If such a CPU does exist Id like to know which. That way I won't have to go out and buy a whole new system just for NX/XD. I don't have my hopes up though. Nor is it that important to me.

According to Intel's ARK website, it is a Socket 478 version of the Pentium 4 511, which is normally known as a Socket 775 CPU, and does have these mentioned features.

    Aug 12, 2009 · The reason I was considdering that was gigabytes support page has x64 drivers for the mobo. I did a good bit if digging and came across a Pentium 4 2.8Ghz HT that apparently was released for s775 and a socked called PPGA478, I assume that it's a socket 478 but I have not been able to verify it. The chip is a P4 521 and has em64t.

    Jun 03, 2012 · Prescott and Cedar Mill are pretty radically different than Willamette and Northwood. x86-64 support came to Netburst with Prescott. All Prescott models were capable of supporting it, but Intel chose not to enable it until after their initial release. I was, however, unaware that there were models on Socket 478 that supported 64-bit instructions.
