Sep 16, 2013 · The simplest way to figure all of this out is to set your PS3 to Bitstream, pop in a Blu-ray disc, choose a Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD Master Audio audio track in the Blu-ray disc menu and watch what codec pops up on the front of your receiver when the video starts up.

Mar 11, 2016 · Oh I am fully aware of that and said as much to the OP it's just the bitstream setting on the XB1 is misleading because on the PS3/PS4 and all Blu-Ray players setting Bitstream will give you the untouched audio letting your amp do the decoding but on the XB1 it instead decodes the audio to either lossy DD or DTS.

Surprisingly, just found a couple of days ago that THE LAST OF US has 7.1 PCM Audio and standard DTS as well. If a PS3 game can do it, I sure hope most if not all PS4 games be in HD Audio.
