I try to stream it to my TV which supports mkv. Twonky support said that version 5.x does have problems with Matroska, which are solved in verions 6.x. Because of this I think my problem could be solved with a newer Twonky Server!

Sep 29, 2009 · it always depends on your player (client) what it can handle, the NAS/DLNA server is just there to serve it (no matter which product you choose) and of course the TS/twonky support mkv too. so you should get a player that supports mkv, the new NMP-1000 by qnap maybe just by the way:

Oct 15, 2015 · when you access twonky through the browser, and drill down to the file, if twonky can play the file on the pc, then it is streaming the file as a dlna client. if it can’t, then we know that there’s something wrong with either twonky not being able to play mkv files still, or there’s something wrong with the mkv file.

But you keep saying the same thing over and over. My MBL is running unmodified Twonky 5.1.9 and it’s streaming MKV fine. You’re stating it DOESN’T work, I’m stating it DOES.
