Jan 08, 2009 · I'm running vsftpd (default config) on a RH server (5.1). I'd need vsftpd to leave the timestamp on files it receives from clients. Right now the behaviour is that the uploaded files get the timestamp from the server's localtime, whereas when I download the file with a client, I can tell the client (FileZilla) to keep the timestamp from server and this does work.

I've been in touch with our Systems Team and at this time MFMT is an unsupported feature on our servers. Our Systems Team has advised that this is for security reasons to prevent someone from uploading files and changing the timestamps on those files so they wouldn't match server logs.

Mar 26, 2018 · Note that there is no time info for files older than 1 year and when time info exists, it's "local" time, whatever that means, only the FritzBox knows. In short, legacy FTP is a pretty crappy protocol. Newer FTP variants supporting MLST and MFMT fix most of the flaws, but for some reason, the old variants are much more widespared.

Mar 29, 2013 · Hello - I'm trying to use the synchronize feature to synchronize two folders and noticed that the timestamp of the file on the target directory is set to the current timestamp instead of the timestamp on the source file.. so basically one ends up in an infinite loop since any time a synchronize is done, either the source or the target is always newer than the other.
