Which WIFI security does the Wii U support? WPA-PSK (TKIP ...

Mar 09, 2017 · The Wii U works with all of them. The most secure of these is WAP2-PSK (AES) so I highly recommend using that. WEP can be cracked in less than a minute with a packet sniffer, so it's basically useless and I'm surprised the Switch even supports it. WPA is okay, but still weak and can be cracked. WPA2 using TKIP is for some older devices.

Support Wii Wii can use WEP, WPA (TKIP or AES) and WPA2 (AES). WEP is the least secure of these types of wireless security. The WPA (TKIP) is the second-most secure, as the security device itself assigns individual keys to its connecting devices and changes them regularly.

Wi-Fi Security: Should You Use WPA2-AES, WPA2-TKIP, or Both?

    https://www.howtogeek.com/204697/wi-fi-security-should-you-use-wpa2-aes-wpa2-tkip-or-both/
It’s offered as a stopgap, but devices that support AES will almost always support WPA2, while devices that require WPA will almost never support AES encryption. So, this option makes little sense. WPA2-PSK (TKIP): This uses the modern WPA2 standard with older TKIP encryption. This isn’t secure, and is only a good idea if you have older devices that can’t connect to a WPA2-PSK (AES) network.

Aug 16, 2006 · Personal opinion: if the Wii only supports WEP, its wireless functionality is basically worthless to me. If it only does wired with an adapter, I will be doubly annoyed.
