It quite happily outputs to notebook, monitor and dual display Since it is running Windows 7 Starter and I know there are limitations with Starter, my question is this... Windows 7 Starter Edition does not support the Extended Desktop mode. So, it is not possible to use the internal LCD display and an external monitor or projector together as one large desktop. If you wish to use the extended desktop mode, you need to upgrade to another version of Windows 7, for example the Home Premium edition.

And are there any options other than Windows 7 Starter and Windows 7 Professional? Cost is of course a factor but so is my concern about overloading my Atom processor.
