I got it working pretty quickly, although there was a problem with the WEP encryption: my AirPort offers 40 bit WEP encryption, which was unavailable on Windows XP, where you can choose either 128 or 64 bit.

Aug 15, 2014 · XP is completely updated as are the drivers on the internal wireless adapter. Ok I just figured out why XP is taking the new key, I am using a 128 bit key which XP does not support. So now I just need to figure out why XP keeps resetting the "Use Windows to configure my network settings" check box to selected after I restart the PC.
