Apr 15, 2014 · When I insert the Windows 7 installation disc the following README TXT message comes up. "This disc contains a "UDF" file system and requires an operating system that supports the ISO-13346 "UDF" file system specification.

All I can see on the CD under XP is a file called README-TXT which says "This disc contains a "UDF" file system and requires an operating system that supports the ISO-13346 "UDF" file system specification." Now I though ISO standards were non-propietary and I understand that XP does not allow direct access to devices like 98 did.

In XP the disk is being read normally, also in Win 7 32bit, Win 10 & OpenSUSE. The conclusion is that there is no disc or hardware defection, it's a problem of mounting the UDFS in Windows 7 x64. The same problem appears anytime with any UDF wtitten DVD.

Oct 30, 2015 · After installing the software Windows should recognize the UDF File System used by this tool if that is the case. I used Roadkill's Rawcopy to try and make a copy. It does not give me the option of the cd drive E as either source or target - even if I load a readable disc.
