Therefore, two dual-core processors would show up and work properly as 4 processors in Windows XP x64. However, if you install XP x64 on a machine with 4 (or more) physical processors, you'll onlly see and be able to use two.

Sep 07, 2007 · If it does, how fast will the machine crunch workunits compared to an identical one using Windows XP? I presently have WIN2k Pro running an Athlon-64 dual core, so that will run. In the distant past I have run a dual cpu Intel Pentium Pro MP on WIN2k Pro.

That's why, two dual-core processors would show up and work properly as 4 processors in Windows XP x64. Windows XP Home runs supports single processor w/quad core and windows XP Pro runs with two processors w/quad cores.
