    So on the X220, one has to be used for a wifi NIC, obviously, so with an SSD there is no room for WWAN/GPS. SSD is the one I'd go for, as I can always tether (once Nokia finally bloody enables it on my Lumia 800), but it would have been good if the X220 had an additional mini-PCIe slot.

    I thought my X200 was pretty fast with the SSD running at SATA II speeds, but after upgrading to an X230 with SATA III it flies. However it depends on how much storage you need. SSDs upwards of 240GB are quite expensive and even more so for mSATA versions, whereas normal HDDs are cheap up to 1TB but also way slower.
