Aug 02, 2008 · This whole topic is stupid. if the person had legit copy of norton ghost he could just boot from the norton ghost CD, which can also run from windows and create a bootable CD or FLoppy that uses DR.DOS to run. Even 2003 supports SATA.

Aug 25, 2011 · If you found a dos boot cd--that does actually boot to dos--then someone must have modified it for sata support. You should probably take a look at its config.sys and autoexec.bat (if they show on the cd) and see what they did.

Apr 20, 2016 · All of the NT releases (well, almost all) on the FTP only have the CD itself, but no bootdisks. So to create bootdisks from the CD, I need an MS-DOS bootdisk with CD-ROM support. Up to now I simply used the Windows 98 bootdisk for it because it conveniently provides me with CD-ROM support so I can do whatever I need.

There is much that a DOS boot CD will not do, much that others will, and they are as easy to download, burn and boot. The DOS CD is therefore a distraction because DOS is so obsolete it is crippled by comparison.

Jan 04, 2008 · I also tried Hiren's BootCD but that won't even boot. UBCD4Win works fine but has no partition tools (by default). In the end I had to use a boot CD I made a few years ago using Boot Scriptor / CD Shell to load an image of Partition Magic 8; somehow all that old software manages to support my new hardware perfectly.
