I'm trying to find a way to run an old Dos based application that uses a printer connected to the parallel port, I don't think Dosbox supports lpt. I am interested both in using that printer and in trying to emulate the printer somehow and connect a USB based printer.

Jun 06, 2014 · I installed DOSBox MB 6 on an Windows 7 32bit machine, mounting my programfolder to and can run the Application normaly. in the config i use printer=reallpt. When i go to the DOSBox and use "dir *.* >LPT1" the page will be print! So, i think the LPT1 Port will work fine!? In my App (special DOS Management Software) i select the LPT1 for printing.

DOSBox-SVN-lfn now (8 May 2016) supports parallel-port passthrough; you can print from DOSBox-SVN-lfn to LPT1, and the output will be redirected either to an actual LPT1 if it exists in your system or to any printer that you have designated as LPT1 through the NET USE command in Windows. The net use command works on my old windows 2000 system just find sending the output to a wireless printer.
