Although you could try installing Windows 7 first, skipping the Windows Support download, once Windows is installed open BootCamp Utitlity and try re-downloading the support software. Remember some of the drivers take a long time to download depending on your Internet connection speed, this could be a very long time.

Jun 16, 2013 · Ok. So for some reason bootcamp isn't smart enough to install from a USB flash drive... Wow. But that's where I'm wrong, because actually IT IS! If you choose the option to download windows support software it claims you CAN use a usb flash drive and it will copy the windows support files to it.. Some good consistency there.

Mar 19, 2011 · First thing I did was update all the Mac software and OS. So tonight I'm trying to add a Windows partition to install XP. I get the same problem when trying to burn Windows support software to a CD or DVD. It just doesn't burn. And saying "just ignore" it seems counter to a warning from Apple not to use the OS X disc to get the drivers.

Jan 14, 2017 · 1) File system has nothing to do with it as OS X is incapable of writing to an NTFS partition without 3rd-party software. 2) It has already been well established that Apple's servers are horrendously slow to download Windows support software when run through Boot Camp Assistant, which is why there are mirrors on their support site linked above.

Select your drive and click on continue. It should download it to the connected USB drive. Reboot into Windows, and install the support software from the USB. Edit: I found Brigadier, a software that fetches and installs the drivers for you on Windows. I'll take a look at it, when I have more time.
