Alistair would be a morality check for Anora whether she liked it or not, and Anora would instill Alistair with some political savvy of his own. I think they make a great team. I love it when they roll into Redcliffe together like "y'all ain't gotta go home, but you gotta get the hell outta here", taking no bullshit.

So yeah get anora, have a good persuade and do the side quest. To get anora you have to at least tell her she will marry alistair (takes persuading alistair), yourself (if your a human male noble), or saying you'll support her. BUT at the time of decision you can choose otherwise.
