Mar 09, 2010 · Format the drive using the NTFS file system. It's simply a warning to say that if you try and store an image file on the drive, it won't be able to do so in a single huge file (huge being larger than 4GB) because the file system (FAT32) simply doesn't allow for it.

Jan 21, 2008 · Your D: drive is formatted using the FAT32 file system and you can't store files larger than 4GB in size on drives using that file system. Convert it to NTFS to get around that limitation. 'Device not ready (medium not present)' means you don't have a disc in the drive or the drive doesn't support the media you've put in it.

Jan 07, 2005 · Sri, to hold files larger than 4GB you need to have your file system set as NTFS not FAT32. Win ME does not support this, you will need to upgrade to win2000 or winXP. What this means is that you cannot make an ISO image of a disk to store on your hard drive.

The simple tutorial to transfer files that are larger than 4GB to a FAT32 file system like the most commonly used USB drives, Smartphone SD cards, Backup drives, etc. Use "multiple zip" method or simply format the drive to NTFS file system.
