May 05, 2010 · Ok, so I got the DVR-S18L and horror of horrors I found out that MCSE does not support auto bitsetting for this model because it's based on a newer QSI chipset. And imgburn does not seem to support pioneer booktype settings.

Apr 22, 2005 · HLMencken do yourself a favor and buy a BENQ 1620 drive that has bitsetting out of the box, no hacked firmware is needed. BENQ supports their drive with newer firmware that is released quite often compared to NEC drives. The only hack that is used for the BENQ 1620 is the speed read firmware.

Jan 01, 2006 · Hi all don't know if this is the right place/forum to publish this question, if not please direct me to the right place. i have read that if you change your booktype to dvd-rom(currently i use both -dvd and +dvd)(and i know that once i will change it i will need to use +dvd) you have a better chance to play the disc on older dvd player.
