In some VoIP routes a switch may be configured to detect in-band DTMF which is sent by the VoIP ATA, but then switches to an out of band RFC2833 DTMF required for an upstream provider. This upstream carrier then terminates the call to the PSTN, possibly to a voice mail system, which will require regeneration of the audible inband DTMF tones.

Aug 31, 2017 · The best approach is to use DTMF via SIP Info. That mechanism puts DTMF events into SIP INFO requests and means there's no extraction from audio RTP packets required. If you do need to go down the out of band path then there's nothing specifically useful in the sipsorcery code base as I've never worked with it.

I am using below parameters for out-of-band DTMF, but "#" is sending by Polycom with transcoding to "11". Is it possible to send it keep as "#" ? ... In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you.

Jul 18, 2019 · As a result, the 3140 doesn't have as granular a command set as TA900 when it comes to SDP options. This being said, as long as your PBX and SIP network support and offer DTMF 2833, the 3140 should pass it through from one side to another without problems. Hope this helps.

Sep 12, 2014 · The touch tones not working is a DTMF Failure. The two settings Allworx had me confirm was that the SIP provider had rfc2833 out of band set and I had to match the RTP DTMF Payload. That setting is in the Server>Voip section of allworx. The RTP DTMF Payload was the issue for me. You select between 96-127. It is set to 96 by default.
