Mar 22, 2016 · The keyboard and mouse on one of our office's computer (older HP 6000-Pro) suddenly stopped working. I've tried using different keyboards and mice. I've also tried going into the Bios to see if the Legacy USB Support was enabled, but it's not listed anywhere in the bios. I reset the Bios settings to default, etc., but nothing is working.

I made a huge mistake though: I disabled USB legacy support. Since this board only has USB3 ports and the internal keyboard is broken, I can no longer do anything as all keyboards I have are still USB2 and USB2 over USB3 is disabled now. I'm kind of looking for a way to hard reset the BIOS at this point, I've tried these things so far:

Jan 17, 2014 · I tried to connect keyboard and mouse via ps2 ports to enable but still does not work so cannot access system as no keyboard or mouse works, how do I fix this? Using a real PS/2 keyboard connected to the PS/2 port is the usual way to deal with the situation where all USB controllers have been "uninstalled" by using Device Manager.

Now go to USB controller, and make sure that it's enabled, then set " Legacy USB Support to enabled. If you don't set Legacy USB 3.0 to enabled, then you should only be using 3.0 hardware on them.

Mar 21, 2006 · However, if you have access to a standard PS2 keyboard, disabling the USB Legacy support is worth a try. It has worked for others. If it doesn't work for you simply shut down, connect the ps2 keyboard, boot back up and re-enable the usb support in the Bios.
